Taking charge of change

We are inspirational leaders that inspire each other to be brave and bold, leading through creativity and innovation.

We see change as an ever-increasing part of life and this includes in our workplace.

We recognise that change can be a time for learning and personal growth. It can also lead to feelings of anger, frustration and maybe helplessness. The key to taking charge of change lies in our attitude and preparedness to actively take charge of our reactions.

Check the hints and tips section for practical suggestions.

Hints and Tips

  • Expect a roller coaster of emotions, remain positive, build resilience, focus on what you can control and influence and talk it over.
  • Focus on the facts. Seek out a trusted source of the facts about the change and avoid the rumours that often spread during change.
  • Talk over the changes to get other perspectives. Talk to a variety of people including someone who is familiar with the situation (a colleague or manager), someone who seems to be positive about the change or someone who is unfamiliar with the situation and can therefore help you see a different perspective.
